Hole in the Wall open day at Chesterton Church

August 30, 2011 by General Administrator

Saturday 10th and Sunday 11th September 10am – 4pm

Part of the boundary wall of Chesterton church has collapsed, a few local people have formed a Hole in the Wall fundraising group to raise the £16,000.00 needed for repairs. As part of English Heritage Weekend the church will be open to all walkers, visitors, tea drinkers and others to inform you of our local history etc.
Local folk will know that Chesterton Windmill is also usually open this weekend each year to demonstrate the workings of this famous landmark; unfortunately that can’t take place this year as repair work to the roof is still continuing. Therefore ,all activities that usually take place at the windmill will now be held at the church including…………….stalls, booksale, face painting ,tea and cake , fresh local produce, games for children, and more………
