Every week

Wednesday 10am-1pm and Saturday 10am-1pm
Join our growers to work on a seasonal task – may include planting out seedlings, weeding, harvesting crops for storage, clearing and preparing polytunnels or field beds, putting straw to protect crops in winter, maintaining fences and other infrastructure – continuing throughout summer 2020.

Chacma pop-up takeaway / restaurant
Format depends on COVID restrictions at the time of each event.
Delicious Southern Indian food cooked by Canalside members Sumithra and Simon, served in compostable containers to takeaway (or eat on site if restrictions allow).

The following events will depend on how the COVID-19 situation develops and whether such events are advisable at the time/which elements of the event can take place:

Saturday 17th April 
Big spring work task – onion planting
Come and help plant the main onion crop – a task suitable for all ages! The work will continue for as long as needed.

Saturday 3rd July
Summer social – an unticketed summer celebration, on a smaller scale that previous summer parties
Music, fire circle, street food to buy, BYO drinks / picnic

Saturday 18th September
Big autumn work task – potato harvest
BYO picnic lunch
The potato harvest from 10am until late afternoon

Sunday 26th September
AGM – on zoom and in person if possible

Saturday TBC October
Apple day and CSA UK Open Day
Make apple juice using our apple press from 11am (bring a container to take the juice home with you if you’d like to, and if you have a tree in your garden and an abundance of apples, please bring apples to press too!)
Bring a picnic lunch to enjoy in the social area
Tour of Canalside at 2pm

Saturday 6th November
Big winter work task – beetroot harvest

Come and help harvest the beetroot crop – a task suitable for all ages!

Date TBC in December
Subject to the situation at the time: Warming wintry drinks alongside the bumper Christmas collection
