Membership of Canalside Community Food

Being a Member of Canalside Community Food does not necessarily mean you have to take up a Veg share.  However, if you do decide to take up a Veg share, you will also need to become a Member.

This Membership entitles you to come along to any of our work days, plus any other farm open days or social events the project holds.  We have 2 work days a week, on Wednesdays and Saturdays, between 10am and 1pm, when you can come along and get your hands in the earth and help the growers with the hard task of growing all the food.  These days also serve as opportunites for veg share members to come along and do some of their work share.  We will undoubtedly have extra work days throughout the year, according to the amount of extra help needed during heavy harvesting or weeding periods!

We also hold eight social events throughout the year, which are based around different Celtic festivals and their corresponding modern equivalent, such as Imbolc, Beltane/May Day, Lammas/Harvest Festival, and Samhain/Halloween, plus the equinoxes and solstices.  Please visit our Events page for the latest information on upcoming social and work days.

Cost of Membership  (per household)       £2/£1* per month    or    £24/12* per year

The cost of Membership goes towards paying for administration, insurance, and other organisational costs involved in having members of the public on the land and putting on social events.  It is also a way for people to show their support for the project and gives us some security to be able to plan ahead.

Membership can be paid for in the following ways:
  1. If you are getting a veg subscription, add £2 (or £1 concessions) per month to your standing order - this is our preferred option for veg share members
  2. If you are not getting a veg subscription, an annual Standing Order can be set up - this is our preferred option for non-veg share members, also available to veg share members
  3. Pay annually in advance by cash or cheque
If you would like to become a Member of Canalside Community Food Ltd, please download and complete a Membership Form and return it to Ali Jeffery.  If you are setting up a Standing Order, please download a form and return it to your bank.
