Vegetables - Collection/Delivery

There are a number of different options for veg share collection.  You can either choose to collect your share direct from the farm or from Bath Place Community Venture, in Leamington town centre.  Our collection days/times are as follows:

Venue Day Time
Canalside Community Food Site
Leasowe Farm
Tuesday 3 - 6.30pm
Wednesday 10am - 1pm
Saturday 10am - 1pm
Bath Place Community Venture
(50p extra per share per week)
Wednesday 10am - 12pm

Instructions for collection:

From the farm:
  • Please note: You will need to bring your own bag/box as we do not provide these.  You will also be packing your own shares, so please be aware of this.
  • Come down to the project site and, if driving, park in the allocated area.  All the veg will be set out on tables in the yurt, which is located next to the polytunnels.
  • On the wall will be a list of veg to go in your share for that week.  Some of this veg will need weighing out, and there will be a guide as to how much you should take for your sized share, plus scales to weigh it on.  Simply help yourselves to your allocated veg, then tick your name off on the list so we know you have collected your share.
If you get a bit stuck, don't panic, there will be someone on site to help.  Just look for the grower on-duty, wearing a high-vis vest, and they will be able to assist you.

From Bath Place:
Your share will already be packed up ready for you to collect, hence the extra cost for collecting from this venue.
Please ask for Lucy (or someone else in case she is not there) in the cafe, and she/they will be able to direct you from there.

Issues around holidays

Because of how our scheme works, unfortunately we can not really offer money off to people if they are not around to pick up their veg shares.  In order for us to be able to make plans, we need to be able to rely on people paying their weekly amounts - this is why we ask that you set up a regular Standing Order, rather than paying on collection, so that we can look at how much money we know is coming into our account and make plans accordingly.
So...  if you are on holiday or can not make your allocated collection for a particular week or two, why not ask a friend to collect your share in your place?  We have found this has worked very well for other people so far, and it has even encouraged some of these 'replacement' members to sign up for their own shares!

Sharing collection with other members

Our hope has always been that members will be part of different collection pools, whereby the members of these pools take it in turns each week to collect a number of different boxes for different people.  This would work especially well for those members who live outside of Radford and Leamington (for example in Kenilworth or Coventry).  We are hoping to set these pools up as soon as possible - ideally members will arrange these amongst themselves, so if you know of other people in the scheme that you could share collection with, please get in touch with them and see if you can arrange something.  Otherwise, please tick the relevant box on you Veg Share Subscription form and we can try and get you in touch with other members in your area who are picking up their shares on the same day as you.

If you are interested in taking up a Veg share please download and complete a Membership Form (if you are not already a Member) and a Vegetable Share Subscription Form and return them to Ali Jeffery.  If you would like to set up a Standing Order, please download and fill in a Standing Order Form and send it to your bank.
